Sell Silver — Silver Bullion Coins and Bars

Number of products: 0

GoldInvest24 buys back silver bullion: silver bullion coins and bars of 999 and 999.9 fineness. We calculate the buyback price from the current silver price and the weight of fine metal — for silver coins and bars we pay up to approx. 90% of the spot value. Below you will find our silver buyback rates, how we value silver and how a sale works.

We accept 1 oz coins, 2 oz, 5 oz and 10 oz formats, and bars from 10 g to 1 kg — single pieces as well as larger lots. Gold coins and bars are valued on our sell gold page.

The buyback is operated by Powel Invest Sp. z o.o., a company entered in the register of currency exchange businesses kept by the National Bank of Poland under number 18785 (entry dated 14 January 2022). The register is public. EU VAT ID PL7372227235, KRS 0000894161, REGON 388654092.

Silver buyback rates — percentage of spot value

We quote our silver buyback rates as a percentage of the current metal value. This way the price list does not change with every market move, and our offer is easy to compare with other buyers.

Type Examples Indicative buyback price
Silver bullion coins 1 oz Maple Leaf, Vienna Philharmonic, Britannia, Kangaroo, American Eagle, Krugerrand, Noah's Ark, Somali Elephant up to approx. 90% of spot
Multi-ounce coins 2 oz, 5 oz, 10 oz up to approx. 90% of spot
Silver bars 999 and finer 10 g to 1 kg, LBMA-accredited refineries up to approx. 90% of spot
Jewellery and tableware silver (925, 800), scrap jewellery, cutlery, tableware not accepted

These rates are indicative and do not constitute an offer within the meaning of the Polish Civil Code. We confirm the binding price after verifying the item.

Why is the rate for silver lower than for gold? Verification, weighing and storage cost about the same, but they are spread over a much lower unit value. The same mechanism makes the purchase premium on silver higher than on gold.

How we calculate the silver buyback price

Buyback price = weight of fine silver (g) × silver price per gram × buyback rate. The price per gram is the XAG/USD quote per ounce divided by 31.1035 g and converted at the current exchange rate.

Product Fineness Fine silver
1 oz coin (Maple Leaf, Britannia, Kangaroo) 999.9 31.1035 g
1 oz coin (Philharmonic, Krugerrand) 999 31.1035 g
5 oz coin 999 / 999.9 155.52 g
Tube of 25 × 1 oz coins 999 / 999.9 777.59 g
100 g bar 999 99.9 g
1 kg bar 999 999 g

Example: for a 100 g bar of 999 fineness we calculate 99.9 g × the current silver price per gram × a rate of up to approx. 90%. The current quote is on our silver price page.

The rate also depends on liquidity: a well-known bullion coin sells faster on the secondary market than a niche product. We check authenticity before the transaction — depending on the product, also with non-destructive XRF analysis.

What we buy — silver coins and bars

Scope Includes
Silver bullion coins Maple Leaf, Vienna Philharmonic, Britannia, Australian Kangaroo, American Eagle, Krugerrand, Noah's Ark, Somali Elephant
Multi-ounce coins 2 oz, 5 oz, 10 oz
Silver bars 10 g to 1 kg, 999 fineness and higher

We also buy back silver purchased in our shop — see our full range of silver coins and silver bars.

What we do not buy

  • Jewellery and tableware silver of 925 and 800 fineness — jewellery, cutlery, tableware.
  • Scrap silver and industrial silver.
  • Silver-plated items.

We deal only in bullion silver. Lower-fineness items have to be melted and refined, so they are valued on different terms.

Do not clean silver before selling

Silver tarnishes and develops a patina over time. This is natural and does not reduce the metal content. Polishing agents remove a layer of metal and damage the relief, which genuinely lowers the value of a coin. Bring or send your silver as it is.

How selling silver works — step by step

  1. Contact us by phone or email and tell us what you want to sell: type of coins or bars, weight, manufacturer and quantity.
  2. You receive a preliminary valuation based on the current silver price and the product parameters.
  3. Deliver the silver in person or send it by insured shipment. Silver is heavy — a 1 kg bar or a few tubes of coins weigh more than a kilogram, so we agree on packaging and insured value before dispatch.
  4. After verifying authenticity and confirming the terms, we sign a buyback agreement and make the payment.

Why GoldInvest24

  • Transparent pricing — the rate is published as a percentage of spot, before you contact us.
  • Valuation based on XAG/USD and exchange-rate quotes, not on discretionary assessment.
  • Non-destructive verification — XRF analysis depending on the product.
  • We buy back what we sell — silver bought from us always has a way back.

FAQ — selling silver

How much is 1 g of silver worth when selling?

It depends on the current silver price, so the price per gram changes daily. For silver bullion coins and bars we pay up to approx. 90% of the spot value of the fine metal. In a 999 product, one gram contains 0.999 g of fine silver. The current quote is on the silver price page.

How much will I get for 100 g of silver?

For a 100 g bar of 999 fineness the buyback price is 99.9 g × the current silver price per gram × a rate of up to approx. 90%. We confirm the binding amount after verifying the product, on the day of the transaction.

What is 925 silver worth?

925 fineness means 92.5% pure silver, so one gram of the item contains 0.925 g of metal. Scrap buyers pay less than the value of that metal because the item has to be melted and refined. GoldInvest24 does not buy 925 silver — we accept only bullion coins and bars.

How does a bullion dealer differ from a pawnshop?

A bullion dealer values the fine metal content and the liquidity of the series, and quotes the rate as a percentage of spot. A pawnshop mainly lends against collateral and applies its own valuation rules. When comparing offers, ask for the percentage of spot value, not the amount per gram.

How much do you lose when selling silver?

When buying, you pay a premium over spot; when selling, the buyer pays part of that value (up to approx. 90% with us). Premiums on silver are higher than on gold, so the difference between purchase and buyback price is larger for silver. It is smallest for large bars and popular 1 oz coins.

Is selling silver taxed?

It depends on the tax rules of your country of residence. Under Polish law, a sale made after six months from the end of the month in which the silver was bought is not subject to income tax (Article 10(1)(8)(d) of the Personal Income Tax Act). The buyback agreement confirms the date of sale.

Should I clean silver coins before selling?

No. Patina is natural and does not reduce the silver content, while polishing removes metal and damages the relief, which lowers the coin's value.

Can I send silver by courier?

Yes, we accept insured shipments. Contact us before sending to agree on packaging and insured value. The payment date depends on the agreed settlement method and the confirmation of the transaction.

Do I need a receipt or certificate?

No. What matters is the authenticity of the product and the ability to check its fineness, weight and manufacturer markings. Original packaging speeds up the valuation, but its absence does not rule out a transaction.
